More of Mimi & Papa

Eli giggles and giggles when someone 'eats' his fingers...and Papa was more than happy to make his grandson giggle!
More garden time with Mimi

Going to the Zoo...Part 2

We were at the zoo for several hours...Eli took a nap while we were there, so when we got back home he was ready to play.
Trinity, on the other hand, fell asleep as soon as we got in the pick-up to go home and stayed alseep for a couple of hours after Papa carried her inside. She was worn out!

Eli liked looking at the orangatan...he just smiled and cooed!

Trinity was telling this little boy all about the lion...at times she is 2 going on 10!

Going to the Zoo...with Mimi & Papa...Part 1

Mom & Dad took some time off of work while we were there so we could take the kids to the Wichita Zoo...it turned out to be a beautiful day for it!
Trinity's favorite animals were the apes, monkeys, and lions- both real and the look-alikes!

Papa & Trinity watching the colorful birds.

Mimi, Eli, & Trinity waiting for Papa...he likes to read all of the signs about the animals and forgets that 2 year olds are only interested in seeing the animals and moving on quickly!

Trip to Mimi & Papa's

The 2nd week in June the kids and I headed to Danville to spend a week with Mimi & Papa. It was relaxing, hot, & rainy...but so good to spend time with Mom and Dad!
Mom, Abbey, Natalie, & Trinity looking through to see what can be picked in the garden.
The girls posing for a picture. Notice our own family Diva- Natalie- showing off her play cell phone. And by Diva I mean a girl who could go to Hollywood and act or model- she's a hoot!

Eli & Emalie...she was fascinated by him and really wanted to hold him. The problem is, he's about her size!!

Zach loved Eli...he was so cute with him and loved that Eli would sit by him!

We're Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo...

Memorial Weekend we took a quick trip out to Denver to take the kids to the zoo, go swimming at the hotel, and as luck would have it, one of my best friends, Belinda, was in Denver, too, so we were able to meet her for dinner! Isn't God wonderful?! It was chilly and overcast- and started raining after 2 hours there, but we all still enjoyed the trip! It was great to spend time with just us! Here Trinity is checking out some of the monkeys- those and the lions were her favorite!
Daddy and Trinity checking out some of the animals.
Trinity loved all of the different monkeys...and they seemed to love her! Some of the smaller ones came up to the glass and started banging on it and 'smiling' at her (baring their teeth!)...she was very wary at first until we told her they wanted to play Pat-a-Cake with her and were smiling at her!
Trinity was a trooper in the rain! We would have stayed despite the rain, but Eli refused to stay under my jacket and his little hands were quite cold. We'll hit the zoo again another day...maybe when rain isn't in the forcast!

Around the House...

Elijah Ray- 8 months old!! His mouth may not contain any teeth yet, but it's always full of smiles! He's crawling like a pro now and has begun to pull himself to standing. I walked into the room to find him standing hanging on to Trinity's rocking chair and a look on his face that said, "Oh, no, now what do I do?"
Love this picture of them- eyes so full of joy and life! God has blessed Aaron and I's lives richly with these two children!
The more mobile Eli gets comes both frustration and happiness for Trinity. Like in this picture, they can play together more, which is so fun to watch; but, Eli's mobility also causes Trinity frustration when Eli gets her toys!

School's Out for the Summer!

Yes, it's official, the 2008-2009 school year has come to a close for us! Praise the Lord for summer! I'm thrilled to be home for the summer with the kids...one week in and we haven't done much more than play...and go to the zoo in Denver! We have a lot planned for the summer- swimming at Grandma & Grandpa's, a week at Mimi & Papa's, Wee-Readers library, a nephew's wedding, Weskan Days, and of course playing, playing, playing! (Thanks to my sister, I'm hoping to get all of my digital pics organized and start on a digital scrapbook. If you know my sister, Jessica, you know how ultra-organized she likes to be and to pass that on to those she loves! Thanks, Jess!) So, let summer begin!!
